Great induction burner at a great price...
I've only used this induction burner a few times since its arrival, but that's enough to convince me of its worth. I'm a serious home chef who has learned the hard way just how important temperature control is with just about any kind of stovetop cooking, especially wok cooking. I've got a good gas stove, but it's still difficult for me to get precise temp control, so I monitor temps with an infrared thermometer. I still end up chasing my ideal temps by turning up/down the gas burners. That should be a thing of the past since I can now simply punch in any temp I want. I was amazed at how fast my carbon steel wok came up to smoking temperature before my last stir fry. Precise temp control is the one thing I've been missing in my cooking and I've ruined more dishes than I care to admit. Hopefully, those failures will now be a thing of the past. When I was shopping for an induction burner I noticed the larger the diameter of the magnetic surface the more expensive the burner. This one has a 7 inch active surface, which is definitely an upgrade. The bigger the surface the quicker the pan will heat up. The controls are intuitive and simple to use, so no worries there. The glass surface is shatter resistant, but I would still take care to be gentle. This is my first induction burner and I'm very glad I've taken the plunge into a new form of cooking technology.

Just know what you're getting and you'll be happy
This little induction cooktop has been a great addition to my kitchen. The fan and coil are surprisingly quiet, which is a big upgrade from the Duxtop I used to have that made an annoying high-pitched whine at higher settings. The interface is clean and straightforward, with satisfying tactile buttons, and the glass top is easy to wipe down after cooking. It’s compact enough to stash away or take along for car camping when I have access to power. I also love using it at home when I just need one burner—no need to fire up the gas range and vent hood at max just to fry an egg.The only heads-up I’d give is about the heating coil. The product photos make it look like the coil is very wide and thick, but in reality, it’s an 8-inch ring. You’ll want pans with a very conductive layer to get the most out of it. As long as you understand that going in, this thing is fantastic.

Fast to Heat Up Appropriate Pans
I have a gas stove and after reading some reviews on these types of heaters I decided to take a chance.I can't remember what I paid for it but it was on-sale. There were different 'sizes' so I chose this one but was surprised at how large (diameter) it is. But it worked out well since the appropriate pan I bought to use on it has space for a few eggs and bacon.I've had this device now for several months but I've only used it to make eggs over easy and to reheat bacon.Since I use it on my countertop I'm not going to use it for other foods (I have an air fryer to my meals). So for what I've been using it for it works great.I'm amazed at how fast it heats up the pan so you can quickly get foods cooked.Since it's used on a countertop - I don't want to try foods that will splatter since that would make a mess all over the place. So if you want a device to quickly heat up eggs, make omelette's, and other types of foods like that (pancakes maybe?) this is a very fast way to get them done.I do use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe it down once its cooled since it will get a 'stain' from the pan on the main platter. But it cleans up that easy.

Precision cooking that pays for itself in energy savings
I tested this burner for one month while idling my 4 stove top convection burners and received my lowest electric bill in 11 years. In addition to the cost savings I like how even it cooks. The temperature is matched even in the sides of the pot. Cool to stand next to and cook for hours. Precision allows me to set a low boil and walk away knowing it will maintain. Built in timer that shuts off the device and lets you know your food is ready. Wow, I love this and if I need more burners this is the way Im going.

Quick and efficient
I really like how well this cooktop Cooks. I have a gas stove and the price of gas is being crazy so I use this to replace one burner or if I'm just going to warm one thing up and I find it works great. Use one of those magnets off your refrigerator on your pots before you try to use it on this because they do have to be magnetic and that can't be stressed enough. There's many pluses to this in the way it works and how efficient it is and the only real negative I can think of is that after about 40 or 45 minutes it will shut off. There's nothing in the instructions about this. It doesn't throw an error and I had two of them that do exactly that. So if you're going to simmer the soup or something like that you need to be aware of this. I guess the other negative would be. The fan is running the whole time and it can get a little noisy but I got used to that pretty quickly.

EXCELLENT INDUCTION COOKTOP
The unit heats a pan very quickly and cooks very evenly. I have a Wolf gas cooktop, but for any 1-pan meal this is our first choice. Every place we stayed in Europe had an induction cooktop, so as soon as we returned I read reviews and specs and chose this one and it did not disappoint!! I highly recommend this one, especially since it is one of the very few that has a 8" heating coil.

Nuwave induction cookware
Got this because the older 1 was accidentally dropped and broke! Used this out of the box right away and perfectly did it’s job! Reason I like Nuwave is because I am satisfied with it’s quality and performance!

Excellent Induction Burner
The burner works as expected and is just what I needed as a substitute for a bad burner on my downdraft range until I get the range replaced. As others have noted the fan is about as loud as a range vent fan.
