Passed through to VM flawlessly
Added 4 drives to my Proxmox server running TrueNAS Fangtooth in a VM. Passed through to VM flawlessly and works great with my HBA

PCB thin, any stress from Sata cable will cuase it to not work. other wise performance is good.
seems to work fine.if you have 6 7200RPM hard drive this does provide a tad under 2GB/s of bandwidth. so 6x 300MB/s HDD should run with minimal bottle necking or lost performance with all 6 Harddrives at full load.if you have Sata SSD's you plan to plug into this. the limit will be about 4 before you run into a bad bottle neck when all are at load at the same time.the PCB is a bit thin, which can cuase issues with getting it to work. if the PCB is under any stress or flex with sata cables plugged in it might not work. mine failed to work at first becuase the 6 sata cable I plugged in put some minor strain on the board. just make sure to adjust your sata cables so they don't pull or flex the board at all and it should work fine after that.I'll update this post if anything else comes up.

This NVME to SATA Adapter Works GREAT!
I don't know what sort of voodoo makes this board work, but it does. I'd maxed out the SATA connectivity on my MB, and so I plugged one of these things in so I could add more storage, and sure enough, the OS sees the drives. I currently have two SATA drives plugged into this nvme adapter and my OS (Linux) sees them. The drives report their SMART statistics and they seem to run reasonably fast. This is a good solution and I have no complaints.

DOA
DOA. Installed this card the day I received it. Windows indicated there was a problem with the card. I switched the pcie port and still same issue. Windows couldn't find the drivers and saw it as a network card. Swapped it out with a spare pcie 4 port card with no issue. Amazon refers me to the manufacturer page for support while the manufacturer refers me to the seller. I should have listened to the reviews. There's obviously issues with the Qc Process. What a waste of moneu

Works perfectly with MSI Pro Z790 MoBo on Win11
My Sil3132 PCIe x1 cards aren't recognized by my new Z790 MoBo no matter what I do in the BIOS. I tried a NewerTechnology card with 4 eSATA ports and a Marvell 9235 chip and it worked, but had an annoying BIOS setup screen that I couldn't bypass. This card is exactly what I needed. I have a 10-bay hot-swap eSATA enclosure with ten 16 TB drives. I set both ports on the card with the jumpers to run the external ports. Both ports multiply and I get fantastic speeds with no issues performing multiple copies simultaneously through either ports or from one to the other. The trick with newer UEFI motherboards is to set the mode from UEFI to CSM and then the boot type to UEFI with Legacy. These settings might be slightly different based on manufacturer and BIOS revision. So you'll have to play around to get it right. But my board flashes the ASMedia BIOS screen and shows the detected drives in a couple of seconds then moves on to boot up. I disabled all LEGACY boot devices so Windows doesn't scan these drives to find a suitable boot device. This is exactly what I wanted... a 10 drive port multiplier through eSATA that works on UEFI motherboards in Windows 11.

Just buy this one; you'll thank me :)
Tl:dr: I draw your attention to the very helpful manufacturer chart on this page explaining the difference between the various versions of this kind of card offered by literally dozens of off brand sellers. This is the cheapest, newest and most compatible. If you need a pcie sata expansion card, and you might because current motherboards often come with only 4 sata ports, you might also have a (old) dvd writer you'd like to keep in action. BUYER BEWARE: the vast majority of cards you see here at all different prices use the older, less compatible, Asmedia ASM106x chipset. There is nothing wrong with this chipset *as long as you do not connect a DVD or CD player* to it. The Asmedia ASM106x does not support ATAPI devices, such as those, and furthermore connecting one may crash your system and corrupt Windows. I emphasize this because I bought one previous to this one and not one listing for the ASM106x cards mentions it will not work with ATAPI devices. Sometimes I hate technology.Extensive research shows that the ASM106x chip has been updated to ASM116x, and these 2 or 4 port cards (like this one) explicitly support ATAPI. Furthermore they are generation of PCIE 3.0 newer and support 2 lanes of traffic rather than just one. Real world differences in throughput may not be noticable since the best mechanical hard drives don't oversaturate 1 lane at 250MBs tops. But newer is better, right? Finally, if you search for ASM1164 you will find a number of similar cards from better known brands. They should all work about the same. But this is the cheapest. There are also cards with chipsets from JM Micron and Marvell. I have no idea how compatible they are. Asmedia is a division of Asus and I have used their ports on motherboards so I trust them, compatibility warnings aside.

Very happy.
Perfect for my application. Worked right away. Steady as always. I'm using all 4 slots. 3 for hard drives and 1 for CD/DVD drive.
