Great pc, good price

If you buy this pc make sure to connect your HDMI cable to the middle HDMI port on the back of the computer not to the 2 HDMI ports towards the left side at the bottom, I learned this the hard way and thought I received a bad unit but I actually received a bad HDMI cable with the pc, which after replaced and plugged into the graphics card (middle HDMI port on back of pc), my problem of not being able to display my pc on a monitor was solved, this PC can play any game I want to, handles playstation now with ease, Warhammer Space hulk is smooth as butter on highest settings... I can get swarmed by 300 alien beasts and not see a single laggy frame, this pc can handle pretty much any game I don't even see a reason to upgrade at this time.

BEFORE EVEN USING YOUR COMPUTER

Wipe away all that bloatware that comes pre-installed or the computer will be disappointingly slow. Here's how:Go to settings > Update and Security > Windows Defender (turn on if off) > Performance and Health > Fresh StartIt takes a few hours but the end result is a much faster computer and quicker boot time. Once its finished, go back to windows defender and download all the updates the computer needs.Next, go to ninite.com and bulk download all the applications you need. I recommend AVG and Malwarebytes for antivirus, Slimdrivers to update your drivers, and Steam. Is the computer worth your money? Absolutely...like under 600$ though. It's smaller than the usual and not very up-gradable. Probably upgrade to 16gb RAM and an SSD but not much else. The cables are all over the place and there is only space for one fan, so the cooling is not fantastic and I wouldn't overclock it...but for the price I really can't complain. It's a lot of power at this budget and the case doesn't look too flashy which I like.I have posted the benchmarks that I got for this computer, and I have no complaints. It says Sub-optimal CPU, but thats with only AVG in the background. Most people will also have steam and chrome open so results may vary. Overall, not a beast, but will run games very well.

Great budget gaming computer with some compromises

This HP gets the job done. In the month I've spent with it, I've been able to play, stream and get work done efficiently. I would definitely recommend doing a Fresh Start like one review recommended because it is preloaded with HP bloatware. For games: Fallout 4, Overwatch, Destiny 2 and Fortnite can all be played on Ultra settings with steady frames over 60. I've gotten PUBG to keep at 80 fps or higher on high settings. HITMAN (2016) had to be played on low settings to maintain a steady 60 fps.Streaming has been a bit more complicated. PUBG chugs with Chrome and OBS running, so I had to knock the settings down to medium to keep decent frames. Down the line I'm going to invest in more RAM.For dual monitors, you need to plug them into the ports on the graphics card near the top, not the lower ones on the mother board.Sound quality is fine through the default 3.5 mm plug. I have not tested HDMI audio out.Adobe Premiere takes a few seconds to load and tends to hang, but not enough to cause problems or slow down my work flow. Videos export at twice the length (a 30 fps video exports at 60 fps. A 30 min video is done in about 15 min.) Photoshop runs fine and exports fast.Overall I'm happy with it. It was an upgrade from my last which was underpowered and out old. I will definitely upgrade the RAM and maybe even invest in an i7 (I think the power supply can handle it) I haven't opened it up to see how upgradable it is, though. If you're on a budget but want to play newer games at High settings, buy it. At $700, it's a deal, just know you might have to compromise.

on paper, it's good

On paper, the specs are pretty decent. Nice mid range cpu with a midrange gpu. I initially purchased it to replace a pc I built that had stuttering issues and input lag from undiagnosed hardware at the time (later found out it was caused by a faulty gpu). But when I go into csgo with the HP comp the fps is totally unstable. fluctuating from 300 to 90 fps. The user friendly design of the HP software (or bloatware rather) turned out to be the most un user friendly thing to update and took way too much pc resources. Got the black screen of death twice. What companies like HP need to realize is that pc gamers want full control and freedom of their systems. I get it, you don't want to make the bios unlockable so users mess around with it and then warranty claims happen. But using this thing was comparable to using a console on training wheels. So all in all, if you want a gaming pc your best off building one yourself for more power and performance for your buck. But if you're new to pc gaming and want to purchase this just make sure you do a clean install of windows and get rid of all the HP crap.

No buyers remorse here.

I purchased this computer to use for MMO. I have another Hp that for as far as I am concerned is running great but an update at the game I was playing made it nonplayable. After many convos with others, it was suggested to not just get a improve graphics but get a decent set that could be ready for future changes and give a little extra. I compared to several low to mid gaming cpu's and with the special price that was in effect at the time. It has been about 5 months now and I still couldn't be happier. I have two high graphics, fast action games on the CPU that play almost every day whenever I have free time to spend on it. Never a single issue. It is a little large, no colors and hard to see in the dark but that's what I liked about it also. Fast load times with 4 accounts and 2 macros accounts. One bad there 100% is with this is limited inputs. A nice feature that was new to me, is you can have separate sounds come from front and back. makes it nice in vc when playing a game. Would buy again with no hesitation, if still at a decent market price.
