Stainless Steel Ice Pick with Wooden Handle and Sheath Kitchen Tool (Brown)

Looking to breakup larger chunks of ice into smaller pieces, to fit into a glass, then this is perfect for that purpose. Due to the very low price, I was expecting it to be on the flimsy side, I was totally wrong, it is very well made and handled breaking down larger chunks of ice with ease. Its design is both compact and stylish. I could not differentiate which end the ice pick was at, both ends of the wood ice pick are identical. What I did was to use a Sharpie Marker, which can be purchased right here on Amazon and put a dot on the bottom of where the ice pick is located . This way, you won't be embarrassed in front of your guests when unscrewing the cap. It has a little weight to it, which is good, it's very sturdy. When the ice pick is locked in its wooden handle, it resembles a fine cigar, the gold ring around the center, is a classy touch. I couldn't see the break line where the ice pick locks into the wooden handle on the gold ring. Perfect for small ice jobs, (that doesn't sound right) but you know what I mean !

A quality ice pick that is both functional and safe since it has a screw-on sheath.Highly recommend!

DISCLAIMER: I ordered this product in 2019, but it's 2022 as I write this review. While looking at the current product page, the dimensions seem to have changed, so... I'm not entirely sure this review is still valid, but here goes for the 2019 version, whose overall and blade length I list below:It's an icepick. A deceptively simple tool that's basically fool proof to make unless you decide to use a really cheap metal that's going to get brittle and snap while doing its intended job.This is not such an icepick.This icepick does it's job exactly as one might expect, and it does it well. It's very sturdy. The size is juuuuuust right (for my purposes anyway). I have not seen so much as one speck of rust so I trust that it is indeed actually made of stainless steel. The wood is attractive with a nice finish, the tool does not slip in the hand at all during use, and the brass fitting looks classy with the wood tone.The pick blade is 4" long, and the product overall is 9" long when closed. The two halves screw together and are flush when closed, and screw open and closed smoothly.If you intend to use a hammer with this, use a lightweight rubber mallet with a gentle touch at most, as I do not believe the product would hold up very well to that. Better to use short controlled chipping motions with this one by hand.

I liked how well it helped break up the ice in ice bags. Usually I have to slam bags and plastic bags breaks and I loose ice.

My first impression was that this is a nice-looking item. It appears to be of very good quality. It has a good weight. I like the fact that the case prevents it from banging around in the utensil drawer. It seems to work well and I have to say I am pleased. The pick itself could be a little longer but I'm okay with the length. I gave it 4 stars for durability because I just received it, so I obviously don't know how durable it is in the long run, but it seems as if it will be very durable. The price point is excellent. So I will say, a great purchase!

***they unscrew*** they’re a little hard to unscrew at first, but they are heavy and take minimal effort to get ice unstuck! Absolutely worth it!

Very sharp and sturdy. This comes in use when your freezer compartment in a mini fridge ices over. It's very easy to open and get to work. Caution: may need to wear safety glasses. That ice will explode in all directions and be careful not to damage anything part of the freezer compartment or fridge itself.

Wow, these are beautiful looking and seen very solid. Time will tell, but as of having them lead than a week, I really like them. Bonus: You get 2 for less than others change for one!!!!! It's awful tempting to keep the 2nd one, but I think I'll give it to a friend and let them enjoy using one of these beautiful, functional ice picks too!! No more using the side of a hammer for me...lol... I will UPDATE after using for a year or so! I do feel that it will last quite some time though.
