They say the lenght and width are 6 w x 7.9 l . their no where near that. why do they measure items by the size of the box? :)

Great replacement for the mouse I used to use.

Have been using a Logitech trackball mouse for years. Unfortunately, they discontinued manufacturing that model and the price for the remaining stock is ridiculous. I noticed this mouse as I was looking for a replacement. It is basic, but more than serves its purpose. It's comfortable to use, easy to install, and works well. More than worth the cost too.

Great trackball

Trackball is brand new. Works fantastic. Going to order another one for work. It is wired which I prefer. It supports my wrist.

Smooth, great quality, very close to Marble Mouse, but ...

It took a bit of time to adapt from the old Logitech Marble Mouse (MM) I've been using for 20 or 30 years. For one, it's shorter and broader. My large hand fingers don't naturally drop to the L/R keys the way they did on the MM. I have to reach back and wider to find them, but that's mostly a retraining issue.Technically, this is a VERY good mouse. Extremely smooth rolling ball, but at a cost. Where as the MM has multiple metal points suspending the ball in a relative snug fit, this trackball just kind of sits loosely in a cradle. And, that's where this mouse, after a couple of month's use, is probably a "fail". I can't tell for certain, I'd probably have to have a new one to evaluate side-by-side, but the cradle appears to have a plastic tab in the back, which limits the forward to backwards movement of the ball. It's not doing that anymore. There is now SIGNFICANT movement of the ball, front to back. The impact is that whenever you're finger is moving from slightly top center to rear, the ball "snaps" backward or forwards. It doesn't remain snugly in place. It's still mostly an annoyance, but it does impact control of the mouse movement to some extent. Again, I'm not sure if this is "as originally delivered", or if it's become damaged with use.Would I buy this again? Well, it's the best Logitech mouse replacement I've seen. Maybe. Not certain. I need a couple of more replacement mouses, so I may give this a second try. What's really a shame, is that some "big political boss" in the new Logitech ownership "somewhere in Asia" decided from an ego perspective, to ignore the wide and deep market for the MM, and discontinued manufacturing them. In fact, since they bought out Logitech some decades ago, their newly designed version was a cheap piece of crap, anyhow. The original had metal contact points in the switches for the mouse keys. Their new ones, plastic, which wore out in about 6 months. They saved 5 cents on a 20 cent part, and destroyed the original reliability. (Had the original mouses for 10 years before they failed.) So, on the plus side Kensington (ACCO Brands in San Mateo) appears to be making products in response to consumer demand. I hope they build and improve on this mouse design.

WORKS GREAT, EXELENT BARGAN

We were trying to replace our old Logitech ball mouse, but that brand's price has shot through the roof, over 200$. My wife has small hands, and most other trackball's are verry award for her. We were verry pleasantly surprised at just how comfortable and responsive this mouse is. The speed and accuracy are fantastic! If you are looking to replace a Logitech at a much better price, you definitely won't be disappointed, I would absolutely buy this again.

not a mouse,but a mouse trap

This mouse is not heavy enough to stay in place when in use.I had to hold it down with 1 or 2 curled up fingers and roll the ball with another. Talk about a pain. My hand started hurting after a while doing this. The entire thing lifts up at the base if I don't do this. The ball will indeed lift up and "clunk" if you use it vigorously(even holding the base down),as well.Every so often, the mouse would stop working and require an unplugging and re-plugging to again be recognized by the PC.The two buttons are also too big as well as placed badly, and you can easily click without meaning to. You can not rest your hand on this mouse. You'll set one of the buttons off. After a month or two,the left click button also started double clicking on me when clicked only once.Could it get any worse?I would like my money back, but I'll be satisfied leaving a lousy review and tossing this thing in the garbage!I found an old logitech ball mouse from an old pc no longer in use,and that 15 year old mouse works better than this.I should have bought 100 of those back in the day.

this is ok but I think their other product is far superior

I was testing this out for a replacement mouse (the other kensington mouse with scroll ring) that I wore out. as I was setting it up, I turned the device upside down. the ball fell out. I was not expecting that, I've never seen a ball fall out of the socket. when I did plug it in, I noticed a difference in performance. this device has a 'floating' feel to it, does track faster but it's different from every out device I've ever used. buttons seemed to work as expected, did not seem to have a cheap feel but the lack of scroll wheel was a deal breaker for me. I absolutely need to page up/down in things and automatically went to move in the document/page. that was the 1st and last time I had this plugged into my computer.I don't think this is a horrible device but it def was not for me

Very good trackball

I have four of these, one at each computer. I love trackballs. You don't have to chase them across your desk. And very importantly for me:If you are doing technical drawings where pixel accuracy matters, you have to use a trackball. If you use a mouse, when you go to click the mouse, you've probably moved the cursor. It's inevitable. But with a trackball, you can put something exactly where you want it and click the button without budging the ball.Trackballs predate mouses. Trackballs make sense to me. Mouses are cheaper and smaller, but they are inferior. This trackball lacks the ring and other features that you may wish to use. It is an older design. But I like it a lot. I have the newer designs also with the rings, but when I need another trackball, this older one is the one I order.I create Powerpoint slides that go way beyond the detail that Microsoft expects in a slide. I do training classes for the people who design the hardware that makes the Internet function. I am old-school. I like this trackball.
