Q: Can't screw caps on part that pierces inground line. Flattened wires so cap stars OK but just turns & wont catch the threads to tighten. Any ideas?

You have to press down hard while holding on the bottom. I used a pair of pliers to help tighten.

Q: Can these be used as a T connector to branch off an additional line (zone) of lights from the main line?

Q: critter chewd ours, are these good for splicing?

You can splice if you use the waterproof splices also on amazon. Be careful to watch the wire sizes to get the right connector
