Worked well--as expected. Thanks! It was easy to set up and small enough to tuck behind tv. I only needed because our RCA input was too close to the wall. Another solution would have been to purchase right angle RCA adapters, but I thought having this device might prove handy down the line. The picture quality seems to be normal/no issues with brightness/picture quality and the device looks good overall.

The product does as is advertised, but it must be noted that is all it does. Let me begin by saying I purchased this product to connect 3 old consoles to a 2022 4K Roku Smart TV. The consoles were an original Xbox, early model PS2 and a Nintendo Gamecube. For this review I have not tested the Gamecube yet.This converter itself works flawlessly with the Xbox and PS2; no issues with functionality. However, picture quality is in question.I must be clear: this device DOES NOT upscale anything. It simply takes the RCA outputs from a device and runs it through an HDMI connector. Nothing more. The default signal quality the device outputs, is the signal quality that will output on the display of your choice.The picture quality on the PS2 is blurred. The picture quality on the Xbox is less blurred. I found it was better to set the switch on the converter to 720p, rather than 1080p, because that actually improved my image quality on both consoles to a minimum degree. To further test, I found an old 1080p flatscreen (pre-2010 model) in my parents garage and hooked my PS2 up to it through the AV ports and found the image quality to not be too far off from what my 4K TV was displaying. Therefore, I must assume this is not the converters fault, but the fault of the low resolutions these old consoles output. The image quality is probably the best I'm going to get.One thing I should note is that my 4K TV upscales low resolution outputs up to 4K, which may make image quality better or worse. I experimented with my TV's settings and found a middle ground between crap and average quality, but good enough to play my old games without developing a migraine from eye strain.I think the item is a bargain for the price. You could easily hook up multiple devices with this converter. I found other converters on Amazon that did the same thing, some even had connectors for specific game systems, but they either had sketchy reviews or were ridiculously overpriced.And considering what I mentioned about a device's default signal output, I doubt they could really do much better than this one. Whether you're running a device's output through RCA cables and into an HDMI converter, or a device's output straight into an HDMI converter, the result would be the same.It simply depends on what display and device you plan to hook this converter up to. Lower resolutions screens like 1080p or 720p would most likely fair better than what I used.So yes, I do recommend this device. It does the job and nothing more. Just don't expect it to magically make your lower resolution devices crystal clear and super sharp. The result is dependent on the display you choose.Word of advice: when you are done using this converter for the day, be sure to disconnect it from the power source. It continues to run and heat up even after all devices connected to it are off.

Needed 2 and they are working well. I'd buy them again if needed.

I also ordered another brand at the same time, that was’t powered and it did not function properly.

Have some of game units and a vcr that only output to RCA. My TV does not support that so I tried this. So far it seems to work great. I have not had any issues and am happy with it. It does need power, so make sure you take that into account. A lot of TVs have a powered USB port, so not an issue for me, but if yours doesn’t, you will need an external power source. Other than that it is plug and play!

Recently got a new tv that did not have the connections we needed to hook up our VCR. This item was a good solution! It was plug and play (we only had to supply the ac power adapter) came with good instructions and worked as expected!

Worked well for about a year with light use. Then blue screened like others have mentioned. Tried different power and video cables with the same results. I guess it just doesn't last long.Update: It randomly started working again.

We recently upgraded our AV receiver and TV, and lost an easy way to bring in devices with RCA video out, namely a VCR and Wii. This adapter stood out as having a reasonable price, pigtails for the RCA input, and it comes with a standard HDMI cable. We bought two adapters, one for each device. In both cases I tried both the 1080p and 720p settings, and the 720p worked best (had the fewest analog-to-digital artifacts). I did not expect an inexpensive adapter such as this to upgrade the video quality, since a smooth up-conversion from 480i to anything HD would be a complicated challenge. What this adapter does, and does very well, is convert the 480i analog signal to 720p digital. The video quality is still limited by the 480i input signal. Some artifacts from the analog-to-digital conversion such as aliasing can be expected, and you shouldn't expect it to look identical to as viewed on an older analog TV, but in our case the 720p conversion worked well. One note is that if your device has component video (separate R, G, B cables for video), that offers a better format for converting to digital, so use that instead with a different adapter than this. Our devices only had RCA video out, and for that, this adapter works well.One additional note, although it's not clear from the listing photos, this adapter does receive power via a micro-USB port. The adapter comes with a USB-to-micro-USB cord, but you need to power it from a standard USB source. Some TVs have USB ports that could be used for this purpose.
