Cuts without blades!
I needed a gizmo to cut lighting gels and ND filter plastic for video production, and it needed to be able to make it through an airport screening without being confiscated for being a sharp object. This basically cuts by pinching between two rollers...no sharp blades to make airport folks unhappy. Perfect for my needs!

When used with proper material, it works GREAT!
Saw a bunch of reviews saying it didn't work well. They all seemed to mention that they were trying to cut wrapping paper with it. I tried cutting thin paper (not even as thin as wrapping paper) and it had a hard time. It's not really suited for that. However, I use it a lot for cutting cardstock and it works like a champ. Slices easily and cleanly exactly where I want it to cut.So if you are going to use this to cut thicker paper and cardstock, it will work great! If you are planning on cutting thin stuff like copy paper or wrapping paper, you may have a hard time.

Finally, a NEW version of our OLD cutting tool.
Had a 30-35 year-old version of this "tool concept", made in Hungary, but it was causing minor problems. This NEW version is a perfect tool for cutting gift wrap, wallpaper, school paper projects, parchment in the kitchen and more. I am very happy to find a new version of our old cutting tool. Always a little confused on how it works, but it really does work well!!

This tool has not cut anything I've tried
I tried to cut the plastic package it came in and it failed. Then I tried something easier, printer paper, also failed.Back to scissors.p.s. I'm an experience set builder, miniature maker, and stop motion animator so I like to think that I know what I'm doing.

Pretty Good, but Help Feed Thinner Paper In Between Blades
I am a right handed individual and my husband is a lefty. I got this because both of us can use it easily. Even I could use it with my left hand. I found I could use either of my hands with ease. This works well for the most part, but it did have a few issues with the thinner gift wraps. The thinner gift wrap tended to want to tear if not fed properly in between the blades. I found that if I held the paper with 1 hand, it was easier to glide the cutter on with my other hand.I have short arms, so I can't always reach the full length (of a tall gift wrap roll) in 1 swipe. I usually have to stop, pull the paper towards me, and then resume. Unfortunately I did this with the cutter and it wanted to tear the paper instead of re-gliding through where I left off. I had to start at the other end and meet up to where I had just cut.My cutting/gliding did get better the longer I used it. It takes a little practice and it helps to know to help feed the thinner type paper in before trying to start the cut.

Perfect for intended use
I use this to cut and trim pieces of photo paper in spaces that do not allow for a large dedicated cutter required for 20x24 paper. For that it works perfectly. I find that when I use the edge of a table or surface to square my cut it is very easy to make straight lines. There are a lot of negative reviews for this that seem to have missed the points made on the advertisement: this is not for tissue paper, the paper must be at least as thick as copy paper. I use with photo paper which is slightly heavier and have had great success.
