Good replacement
It shipped from NC to MN by fedex the box had one rip but they crated the engine so it was fine. Everything was expected came with a flywheel..Just wish Northern Tool wouldn't have sold me 4 stroke compressor oil when I bought it. Pretty sure I ruined the first year but it lasted 13 years with very limited use. The check valve went out which made the switch go out on it and it ran for a long time before seizing.

The Compressor repair parts have a long lead time
I purchased the Ingersoll Rand SS3 compressor with a 60-gallon tank in March 2011. From another company. It is now June 27, 2023. The compressor is used in by garage for miscellaneous projects.I noticed a small leak in the crankshaft seal behind the pulley. The leak was very small, but I did not want the leak. I looked at my options, a complete new SS3 pump is now over $600.00. I decided to replace the seal with an Ingersoll Rand part. I called the Ingersoll Rand Parts department and talked to a very helpful salesman. According to my parts schematic, I could purchase an assembly for $380.00 or I could purchase just the seal for $80.00. I went ahead and ordered just the seal. The bad news, it has a 6 month lead time. Good thing I have a small leak in the current seal.

I was not satisfied with its performance
This is the second pump that I purchased to replace the original. I was not satisfied with its performance. I reached out to the manufacture and after serious conversation they pin pointed a problem. We discovered that I did not allow enough clearance around the compressor unit for proper ventilation. After relocating the compressor and replumbing the entire shop and adding a circulation fan to ensure this compressor unit has ample air.I am not sure this is what has caused the actual problem but time will tell. If it does not solve the problem I will never buy another Ingersoll Rand.
