Mini Delights Hardcover – August 16, 2013

I got this book at a discount store yesterday so I can't speak to the recipes. It's a nicely designed book. Pictures of every recipe, lays flat, cute scalloped pages. I have to knock off a star for two things. Why are the instructions in gray font? The font size is also small so it's hard to read. Why not use black? My other problem is that of bunch of the mini cakes call for odd size pans, like 11x9 inch pan. Closest thing I could find is 12x8. The 7 in square pan with removable bottom isn't easily available either.Looking forward to trying some baking for the holidays with this book.

I wonderful book - and the presentation of recipes and photos is superb.

I found this book at a good price in a charity shop and that was the only reason why I bought it because you can actually find most of the recipes in other books, of which I have at least two but some of the recipes I don't have or else I wouldn't have bought it. The book is lovely, with great photos and lots of advice and I will surely be trying many of the recipes but I do resent the fact that many of the modern cook books are actually repeats from other books. It is not fair on the unsuspecting buyer who has maybe forgotten that they already have other books with the same recipes????? If that is not your case than it is really worth buying this book, if that is the case then give it a miss. This book has made another one I bought a long time ago, Mini Pies, obsolete or almost. But I have seen at least one in another book, I think Tempt? Not nice…. And I have read many reviews in the past of people who were deceived in the same way! This is the reason why I have to give this book 2 stars, otherwise it would get 5 from me!
