So, in many ways, the subject says it all!I'd upgraded my HP ENVY to a SPECTRE & whilst it's a fantastic laptop, it's relatively poor in external connectability with a single USB-A (which my mouse dongle is plugged into) and two USB-C connectors. With an external mic, Webcam, keyboard, DVD drive & USB drives, I needed an efficient way to connect them. I'd borrowed a couple of small USB-C ports, but they were unpowered & so had problems in running my external USB drives.Looking around the web, most of the hubs available, whilst being described as "7-in-1 hubs" only offered 2 or 3 USB-A connectors, the remainder being SD card or, occasionally, ethernet, so it looked as though I'd have to put up with a multitude of hubs.Then I came across the Unitek hub - 7 USB-A connectors, Ethernet adapter (so faster internet connectivity) and, being powered, runs mu USB drives with no problems.Oh, and it has another advantage... I'd found similar drives but all in excess of £100... this unit was £30!If there is a slight downside it's that it only has a single on/off button, rather than one for each connection - I did spot one that had that option from another manufacturer, but it didn't have the ethernet cable & so all that it means is that my "off grid" backup drive just needs unplugging once it's been backed up, so not a huge issue.

The UK power plug/transformer was very large, but I've not had any trouble powering many devices simultaneously, including external hard-drives. Of the six data ports I've used up to five simultaneously so far. I've also used the seventh charge-only port to run a desk lamp. All seems stable.The ethernet socket also works well with Ubuntu Linux.Neither the hub nor the transformer get very warm during a day's usage.

I've used the hub for a month now during Zoom training sessions and it's doing the job. In addition to the ethernet connection, at times I've had going at the same time a microphone USB connection (from audio interface), lightning cable for mirroring my iPhone, and USB Stream Deck connection (even though Stream Deck say you shouldn't plug into a hub). A little heat from the hub, but not much and no concern.First impression is not positive, though. The hub has a very plastic, lightweight feel to it. The on/off switch doesn't feel particularly robust. The lights to signify which ports are in use are OK, but almost invisible unless you view from above. I was nervous about relying on it under pressure. More impressive is the USB connection from the hub, which is reassuringly chunky.In practice, though, the hub has performed well. Fast and reliable all round. And I can't fault the value for money. So five stars for performance. But it loses a star for build quality.

Exactly what I needed for my home office, let’s me connect to the Internet via ethernet and has plenty of USB ports to connect peripherals to my laptop. Works perfectly.

I found it surprisingly hard to find a decent powered USB3 hub with ethernet, so was pleased when I came across this device. Does exactly what it says on the tin; solid USB3 hub with GigE networking (Realtek chooser, supported fine in Linux). Absolutely no hassle to setup - I use it to dock my laptop when I'm at my desk.

Previous hubs could not cope with more than two inputs to my laptop, then I realised a hub has to have independent power to solve this problem. I also wanted an ethernet socket as my laptop doesn't have one, and this fits the bill really well and I can use all seven sockets - really pleased.

Managing my work laptop and personal computer was once a frustrating experience, filled with a mess of cables and the need to constantly connect and disconnect. This handy device has made everything so much easier. I can now operate both computers using just one keyboard and mouse, and the 4K resolution is a fantastic bonus.

Good “working from home” product. Allowed me to plug in my mouse, keyboard, headphones and Ethernet cable, meaning I just swap 1 USB cable from my home PC to my work laptop when I need to work from home. Well made. Decent quality, well worth it in my view
