Apigenin vs l-theanine vs magnesium threonate
Writing this to hopefully help people like me.MY ORIGINAL ISSUE before sleep supplements: difficulty to fall asleep, racing thoughts, tossing and turning in bed. I'm 30. I'm not a "insomniac" though.THE TEST:I had purchased the Huberman lab recommended sleep supplements and tested them one at a time (l-theanine, apigenin, and magnesium-threonate). Different supplements work for different people but these are generally the first 3 you should try for sleep. Only use one at a time in the beginning so you can isolate which one actually helps you.L-theanine (200mg) is nice for removing jitters from coffee during the day but didn't impact my sleep in a very noticable way.Magnesium threonate 100-300mg - I've only taken it a couple times but I didn't notice a difference. (yet). I need to do more testing.Apigenin (only tried Momentous brand so far) 50mg I've been taking this for 2 weeks and this is essentially the first time in history I've been able to keep my sleep debt (measured via rise app and apple watch) at ZERO most days. For the last two years it was super rare for me to hit zero. Sleep debt = the amount of sleep you've missed over the last 14 days, measured by how much your body specifically needs.Apigenin does help me with racing thoughts at night. Some nights I just spiral, my brain is too active, I just ramp up thinking about random stuff lol. Apigenin has been really nice for heavily reducing that. I take it an hour before bed.It definitely removes my restlessness so I think it heavily reduces my time to fall asleep and fall back asleep during the night. It does make me a little groggy in the mornings but it's not bad after a coffee.I prefer feeling 5% groggy if I can simultaneously feel super well rested.Highly recommend this for anyone wanting to improve sleep, it's safe and cost effective. You only need 1x 50mg capsule per night imo.

Amazing for sleep
Gets me relaxed and sleepy within 15-30 minutes. Absolute game changer for sleep. Bonus, you don't have to take with water or food so you don't have to be filling your stomach right before bed

Didnt help my sleep
i am not a good sleeper and usually have trouble falling and staying asleep. My doctor recommended this supplement. i have been taking it for about 6 months now, and haven't noticed it helps. It may be me, other meds I am taking, etc. I wouldn't discourage someone from taking it. it may help someone else.

Potential Benefits: Relaxation, Sleep, Focus, Calmnes,s Cognitive, Restfulness, Well-being
For starters, Apigenin is a compound found in many fruits and vegetables, particularly chamomile and parsley. It’s known for its potential to support cognitive function and improve sleep quality. I was particularly interested in this supplement because of its natural origin and the benefits it promises.Taking one 50mg capsule each night about an hour before bed has become a part of my routine. Initially, I didn't notice any immediate changes, which is not uncommon with supplements. They often take a while to build up in your system and show noticeable effects. However, after a few weeks, I started to feel a bit more relaxed before bedtime. It wasn't a dramatic change, but I found myself winding down more easily and falling asleep quicker than usual. One of the main benefits of Apigenin is its ability to promote relaxation. It works by activating chloride ion channels which calm neuronal activity in the brain, helping the body to enter a more restful state. I’ve noticed that I feel less restless at night and my overall sleep quality seems to have improved a little, which has been a nice change.Aside from sleep, Apigenin is also known to support cognitive function. While I can’t say I’ve experienced any cognitive boosts, I do feel like my mind is a bit clearer during the day. This could be because I’m getting better sleep, but it’s hard to pinpoint the exact cause. Nonetheless, feeling more alert and focused is a positive outcome I’ll gladly take. One thing to keep in mind with supplements like this is that they often don't provide immediate or obvious benefits. Much of what they do can be subtle or build up over time. Apigenin seems to be one of those compounds that quietly supports overall well-being without being overtly noticeable in everyday life. It’s more about the gradual improvement in sleep and relaxation, which in turn can help with cognitive function over the long term.In terms of recommendations, I’d say this supplement is worth trying if you’re looking for a natural way to support better sleep and relaxation. It’s especially useful for those who struggle with winding down at night or have issues with sleep quality. Just remember to give it some time to work – don’t expect overnight miracles. Consistency is key with supplements, and Apigenin seems to be a good addition to a nightly routine for gradual improvements in sleep and cognitive health. Also, consulting a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement is advisable.
