Deni 8340 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet, 12 in x 14.5 inch

I checked out a lot of electric skillet before decieding on this one and I'm so happy I chose it. The description is exactly what this skillet delivers. The temperature dial lets you choose any setting in between the printed degrees. It heats quickly and there are no hot/cool spots. There is no light to tell you if the unit is on or off, but there is a soft hum while it is heating. When the set temperature is reached, the hum stops. The temperature guage is a plug it - easy to install and remove. Cleaning is a breeze: wipe with a paper towel or clean with soapy water and a cloth. Original order was on 4/2/13, worked great for about 2 weeks then it stopped working, no heat. I returned it for a replacement on 4/25/13. This one was defective because the power unit couldn't fit into the misaligned receptacle on the pan. Returned that one on 5/3/13. Amazon overnighted the third unit to me, which I must return as well. This one has a chip in the nonstick coating and the metal band around the lid is half off.I'm very disappointed as this was the perfect size pan for me and was lovely to use for the 2 weeks I could. I'm asking for a refund now and will have to find a different brand. I still love Amazon as the communication has been excellent.

It is larger than I like. Works well other than the electric cord does not connect as it should.

I was so excited to get my new electric skillet. I took it home, unpacked it, washed it and got ready to cook. That is as far as it went. If I held the thermostat at just the right angle, the skillet would heat up, but if I let go of the thermostat it turned itself OFF. I'm guessing it has a loose wire somewhere. The skillet, itself, was a good size and I really like the shape. I'm used to using a round electric skillet. The non-stick surface looked a little thin and not really smooth. I will be packing it up today and returning it.

I must say I was already excited to be getting a replacement for my current wok which the least to say has been used to death. Excellent Replacement, Excellent Product, Great Features, and Cooks like a dream. It's WAY worth the money.

Appearance- quite nice. But, that's as far as it goes. I have had this skillet unopened in the box it arrived in for almost two years thinking on several occasions that I would give it as a gift. I am so very thankful I never did that. Only last week did I decide to use the skillet myself when I came across a recipe that would have been ideal cooked in an electric skillet. I have never been happier with the decision to have kept it for myself! Although the temperature control indicates a range from 275-425, I found there to be no difference no matter the setting I chose. It was "full speed ahead" from the moment I passed the ON indicator. There wasn't any chance of leaving this appliance unattended for more than a few minutes at a time. I lost count of how many times I added liquid and cleaned up the steamy mess that came over the sides of the pan. It's not surprising at all that the website for Deni no longer exists nor the telephone number on the "Warranty Registration Card" is no longer a working number. This appliance is a huge disappointment on many levels.

bought this to replace an older skillet that we have used for years, it's a little smaller but for 2 of us it works great. easy to cleanup.

I bought this skillet by mistake. I was going to send it back, but our daughter said she would like to have it. We gave it to her and she really likes it. Our grandson wanted one, so we ordered one for him too. We wanted one that was stainless steel inside and out.
