Every GM truck from 1995-2000 that I've owned needs this replaced, poor design leads to them breaking off the single mount bolt. The aftermarket replacements aren't much better, still all plastic, and the channel the cable sits in on the release handle is at a different angle than oem. Works as a replacement, expect to replace them every year or 2 just due to the design. Fits gmt400 trucks 95 and up.

my 99 tahoe has a large star bolt fastening it to A pillar on car. hoping that it lasts a long time.

So far so good. I installed it on my 1997 Suburban k1500 and it fits and I had no problem with the bolt size though it was a little hard to get into the little slot in the back but with it lined up perfectly I used the butt of my ratchet and it took about 4 good hits on it to fit snugly in. I hope it last a long time cause getting it out might be a little tricky.

Broke when I put it on and pulled it the first time.

I love it. Same as original. A pain in the back to install but works fine.

The product came dirty and possibly used. The black cap that holds the spring broke off. I managed to make it work for a Sebring, but it did not fit without modification.
