CMP Union Threaded 2" MPT x 2" Slip for IntelliFlo & WhisperFlo 21063-200-000

I've purchased several of these to retrofit my Hayward pumps when I had to remove them for repair/replace. My original installer did not install unions so I had to cut the plumbing out. These work very nicely and fit the pumps well. They seem high quality. They've only been installed about a month, but no leaks so far. We'll see how well they stand up to the AZ sun. I did add a little thread grease in addition to the rubber o-ring that comes with them just to be sure. I probably over did things, as I lubricated the o-ring with o-ring lube as well. My pumps aren't where I see them everyday so better safe than sorry. Leaks can go un-seen so I prefer to avoid them at all cost. Happy with this purchase.

This is one of those you have to assume you know what you need. If you do, this is pretty much the very best value for the price. Buy this anywhere else and spend up to double. These are solid Hayward pool pump parts, just less expensive. They work great so a 5 stars from me.

It functioned as it should and was easy to install. It will allow adjustments to the plumbing if necessary in the future

I needed to reinstall my pool pump input union. It had a small suction leak through the threads from the get-go because I hadn't screwed it in to the correct depth etc and since it was glued to the plumbing could not be redone without a big ole chore. You only find out after you test it and you cant do that until its all solid. After 2 years I decided to cut it out and install this high temp union. Measured repeatedly to ensure perfect fitting between pump and fixed pipe but the union fitted easily and sealed perfectly....no more micro-bubbles in my pool. The union screws in with firm hand pressure only, no need to grolley it! 'O' rings do the work, not thread pressure. I can now disconnect and reconnect pump as needed. The low cost of this union makes all others from the DIY stores obsolete.

These are more expensive, but they are thicker gauge than the cheaper ones you can find on here. I used them when installing my Pentair Intelliflo VS motor. The seals on them are better than the other brand on here as well. I know because I ordered the others (it comes in a 2 pack) and compared the two side by side. Not saying the cheaper ones won't work, but if you're looking for higher quality seals / thicker gauge plastic, spend the little extra money.

Works great. Didn't use thread sealant, just tightened. Leaked at first until I tightened again. In hindsight I probably should have used Teflon tape which I will do if/when I remove it. Used it with a new variable speed Pentair 3HP pump. Did the installation myself and saved hundreds. Yes, the warranty is only good for 60 days for self-installs. Tip: to remove the PVC inside joints which is left after cutting piping for a new pump check Youtube. You basically heat a hole cutter with a blowtorch then insert it in the opening, contacting the PVC you need to pull out. When it gets rubbery use a screw driver to create a gap then insert a needle nose pliers and twist. Out comes the old PVC. With a little sanding the joint is ready to re-use. Using these couplings I installed a new pool pump in 4 hr.s over several days.

This is not durable, it broke after less than 4 months in service and caused flooding.

Shaft seal is excellent. Other o-rings useless. Could not get the main seal to stay in place because it is made triangular, so would not stay in the gruve, even with silicone applied (made it slip even more). Had to reuse the old o-ring (not exactly an o-ring, but a gasket). I will not reorder this o-ring kit, but will pay a few dollars more to get the correct gaskets.
