Perfect replacement - makes the press work like it’s brand new!

After 2+ years and making hundreds of cups of coffee, my original press plunger cap had met its demise. It fit loose in the press, was leaking, and barely held the press together.Frankly, I was loosing love for the aeropress all together. This very, appropriately, affordable replacement part brought my press back to life, and reinvigorated my love for this coffee press. So easy to replace, simply pull the old one off and gently stretch the new on into place. Then brew coffee!

Works

This worked just like the original. It was easy to put on and it hasn’t come loose after months of daily use

Not like the original

It creates a better seal than the worn gasket, but not like the new original gasket

Better Than the Manufacturer’s Original!

I bought one of these nearly two years ago when my third AeroPress began to “fail”. I wish I’d known to do it earlier; it would’ve saved me money…and from creating so much excessive waste. This is easy to install and forms an exceptional seal and lasts longer than the original. That extra pressure makes an exceptional cup of Java. After thousands of cups of coffee, I’m just now noticing that the seal is a bit lose. And that’s the time to replace it. If you wait too long, it’s easy to damage the press itself trying to make it work, which requires a lot of force and jiggling. I tanked my previous two presses that way. And I wasted a lot of coffee (a cardinal sin) in the process. This is also a great value. The price is at least 50% less than the official replacement part. And it has not increased since last I ordered.

The Aero Press has a problem.

To make the AeroPress affordable and aesthetically pleasant they make it out of plastic. But the hot water needed to make the coffee warps the plastic case causing trouble plunging the water though the press. The cylinder warps causing a blast of coffee coming back through the top of the press. Sprayed coffee is not what I expected.I have worked out a system where I press softer and reseat the plunger in the cylinder to prevents the splash of coffee coming through the top of the press. I love the taste of the coffee made by the press. But they need to adjust the mold to make the press stand up to the water temperature and pressure used on a daily basis.

This gasket seal will extend the life of your AeroPress coffee maker!

I have bought AeroPress coffee makers for years and have accumulated 3 of them. The coffee makers themselves have lasted for many years -- the main point of failure is the gasket seal on the plunger. Replacing the plunger will then extend the life of your coffee maker for even more years. If I had seen these gasket seals years ago I might have only needed ONE coffee maker all this time. If you own or plan to buy an AeroPress coffee maker it would be a very good idea to get one of these for that inevitable time when the gasket seal shrinks so much that it can't do its job anymore. And this WILL happen, eventually. I highly recommend these coffee makers and their replacement gasket seals.

loose fit for aeropress

The specifications for this don't meet the standards of the aeropress plunger. This Chinese made knockoff one is loose fitting and not a good deal. About the same looseness as the one I just retired. At this point the aeropress plunger is worth the extra money.

New lease on life for my Aeropress

I love the Aeropress. I bought two in 2014. One for home and one for the office. Since working at home kicked in with COVID, I put my office one in the camper. This summer I discovered the camper one works great, but the one at home has air leaking past the plunger. Looks like I wore out the plunger. (A few hundred cups of coffee will do that.). A new Aeropress costs close to $40. This little rubber plunger was about $13. It seems to have solved the problem. Air no longer leaks past the plunger when I push it down. Time will tell how long this thing lasts, but for now it is an inexpensive way to extend the life span of the Aeropress. If air is pissing past the plunger, this is an easy fairly cheap fix.

A great replacement for a worn plunger tip.

The old tip on the Aeropress plunger ... used for ten years ... was so worn around the edges that it would not reliably push the water down through the coffee and filter. The new tip seals really well in the cylinger and encures even pressure through the coffee grounds.

Disappointing and inconsistent quality

I ordered two plunger replacements, one for home and one for my office. The one I put on my work AeroPress is fine. The one I put on my home AeroPress is as bad as the old plunger I took off. It is so bad that I initially thought I replaced the old plunger rather than putting on the new one. Save yourself some aggravation and buy the original. This is the first time I purchased a non AeroPress plunger and the last.

Replaces seal for aeropress

Replaced the worn out seal for my aeropress system, works perfectly and much cheaper than the official replacement (which is about the cost of a full aeropress itself).
