Why didn’t I buy this sooner
After years of using a chimney to start my coals I finally broke down to buy this. Man why didn’t I do this sooner. So much easier and makes bringing smokers up to temp easier.

Backyard BBQ and fire pit king
I bought this, and 2 refill canisters last summer. I'm still on the 1st canister. I bought 2 canisters because I wasn't sure how long they would last. I use this every time I start my grill, and cook steaks to get a crust. I even use it for my bonfires so I don't need lighter fluid. Its very simple to use. Screw on your fuel canister, turn your dial to the open position, and pull the trigger. You can adjust how big or small the flame is with the dial. Just be sure you're connecting your canister correctly and not stripping out the threads and you'll be OK. This is my first torch, and I really like it. If for whatever reason it breaks I will probably buy this same one again based on ease of use and how much I've used it so far with no problems

Fast searing for sous vide cooking...
I sous vide most the meat I prepare and I use this blow torch to sear after the meat comes out of the sous vide process. The goal is to achieve a maillard reaction on the surface of the meat. This can be a kind of tedious process with variable results, but not with this torch. It produces enough BTU's that I can do two steaks in less than two minutes, provided I've dried the surface of the meat. While the seared crust doesn't hold up to a charcoal grill crust it is the best option for a sous vide home chef. Just be certain to do it outside because we're talking about a LOT of heat that will set off your smoke alarm in the house.

Great idea…
Great idea, but would be more convenient for what I need to be able to just pull the trigger for it to turn on and off like my more cumbersome one.
