Gaia PRO Fermented Beet & Maca - Circulation, Kidney & Liver Supplement
I ordered this Fermented Beet and Maca combo supplement by Gaia HERBS PRO for its circulation benefits and energy support benefits.I work out daily (or at least, I try to) and I have been using Beet Root supplements for some time for its ability to dilate blood vessels, permitting increased oxygen and nutrients to reach all areas of the body. With the two capsule per day dose, you are getting 500mg of organic fermented beet root, which is a pretty good dose.Hereās some more info about beet roots from the inter webs. Just skip over if you already know about beet roots.āFermented beets are a low-sugar alternative to regular beets that have probiotics, or beneficial bacteria, that support gut health and digestion. Fermented beets also reduce anti-nutrients, such as phytates and oxalates, that can interfere with mineral absorbtion. Additionally, fermented beets have higher nitrate content than regular beets and can fight oxidative stress. Fermented beets provide potassium, calcium, iron, manganese, and vitamin C, which boost the immune system.āAnd some more about beet rootsā benefits, always good to knowā¦āResults from scientific studies have shown that the ingestion of beetroot juice is effective in improving blood pressure, endothelial function and systemic inflammation. Nitrate in the beetroot is a major contributor to the blood pressure reduction, since this substance improves the dilation of blood vessels, providing oxygen and nutrients to the body. The good blood pressure control helps to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes.āThis supplement also contains a small dose of Maca, just 100mg, which may still have an effect, although I couldnāt tell if I had some sort of āenergy boostā. My workouts seem steady, focused and I move with ease (Iām a lap swimmer), so Iād say itās possible extra energy is assisting.Maca is pretty potent stuff, so again, the 100mg dose may be appropriate, although Iāve read that up to 3000mg/day is possible. There are notable precautions regarding over-dosing on Maca so caution is in order. Also, stop for a couple weeks after a two month period of daily consumption of Maca.Hereās some more info about Maca. Itās all new to me and I thought I should check it out before taking it. Check with your healthcare professional before taking this.āLepidium peruvianum or maca is a root belonging to the radish family and is found only in areas atop the continental mountain range of Andes (these herbs are grown at an altitude of 14,000 ā 15,000 feet), only in the Peruvian and Bolivian sections. Called maca-maca by the Spanish, this root was also used as a form of currency during Spanish colonization in Peru. Maca was and is hailed for its powers to infuse strength and energy in people and its various other health benefits are still in the process of identification. However, ongoing researches have unearthed a few conditions under which certain maca herb side effects can be observed in an individual. Since it is of utmost importance that one finds out about all possible side effects of herbs before adopting them, here are some possible maca side effects that may affect you adversely if you are less vigilant.Side Effects of MacaIt is advised that a stipulated dosage of maca is strictly followed in order to avoid any overdose issues.Herbalists say that a dosage of 1500 ā 3000 mg divided in three equal parts should be consumed on a per day basis.Amazingly, research shows that the 1500 mg helping (about 3 teaspoons) displays similar results as the 3000 mg helping. Also, it is helpful if you start with a dosage which is quarter of the maximum dosage that is recommended two times a day and then slowly increase the quantity. This actually conditions the body slowly, so that it is not shocked to receive the potent herb in a high amount subsequently going into an overdrive, and can actually learn to reap the maximum benefits from this member of organic herbs.Maca is actually so potent a vitalizer that it can provide nourishment to malnourished and feeble children who are over the threshold of 3 years, when a dosage of ā teaspoon of maca thrice a week is administered.Maca is also known to be a huge help for women experiencing menopausal problems and issues due to hormonal imbalance. Physicians also advise to pause the intake of maca for say two weeks in every two months to keep the body from becoming dependent on it.āSo, this combo supplement seems to provide the body with nutrients and energy and a way for the body to maximize the dispersal of oxygen and nutrients by dilation of the blood vessels.I think that this supplement, made in the U.S.A., is safe with the suggested daily dose. You could also start off with just half the dose, one capsule not two, per day, and see how that feels.I like this supplement by Gaia HERBS PRO and Iāll stick with it for my workouts or when extra energy is needed.
