lograron diseñar algo muy facil de instalar, a un muy buen precio. y que resulta muy util , increible pensas que autos de miles de dolares no lo traigan desde el origen.Hay que ver la durabilidad ya que segun otros comentarios es uno de los puntos debiles, en cuanto a dureza para abrir o cerrar esta exelente como se esperaria de cualquier puerta con asistencia .

Bad instructions

I’ve had this on less than a week and open and close the tailgate every day. When I went to close the tale gate today the mounting point on the tailgate popped out which shoved the shock over and cracked/broke my tail light. Very disappointed in this product.

ok to start I open the bag dumped it out the parts I looked at things it looked like something was missing I was going to send it back but found the missing part get something to dump parts on 1 you will need a 10 mm wrench 13 mm wrench and a 5mm Allen wrench the insert into the lower device hold take it hold with the 5mm Allen wrench you can only get a 1/4 turn with the 10mm wrench 4 1/4 turn equals 1 full turn so you will need 36 1/4 turns of the 10mm make sure the wrench is kept the same way to get the right amounts of turns back out the bolt in the insert and test the ball stud snug it down that is where the 13 mm wrench comes in once checked back out put the red lock tight on the threads tightened down if you can guess 8 lbs you are better than I am put the top plate put the red lock tight on the threads tightened the security strap put the shock on use gloves test it looks to be very good os buy it

Very very very slow to open. I thaught it would speed up after a handful of uses, but it has not after a few hundred so I dropped a single star for that. Install is a breeze.Update after about a year:Shock still hasnt loosened up at all, but the mounting knob connecting it to the tailgate has. Because I have to pull down on the tailgate for it to open up at all, the power of the shock has twisted the ball mount on the tailgate. I ended up removing the shock completely. I recommend going with another kit, though maybe my shock was just defective.
