We plugged the scanner in and it worked perfectly. It seems to read barcodes from any angle, which is much better than with the scanner we were using (which was also a lot more expensive). I just recommended this to another Rotary Club that is using barcodes to track member attendance.

Great item

Purchased this to use in an educational setting. Our learners and educators check in and out for classes and workshops. Gets regular use from 70-100 people a day and so far no problems (in use for about 2 months). Set-up was very easy, just plugged it in, scanned a couple setting codes and worked immediately with our attendance software. Our clients have a range of digital literacy levels and those that previously had difficulty with our entry-level handheld scanner were very excited with the upgrade.Reads laminated barcodes printed from our copier, you can put a barcode in front of it in almost any direction/angle and it seems to work just fine. It does scan from screens (for example if you took a picture of a barcode with your phone) but takes a little more time depending on the image size and screen brightness. Overall very impressed! I am sure the higher-end, more expensive scanners are worth it for some, but for the price we are very happy with this scanner!
