Q: can I insert a male-to-male cord into the mic input and tape record songs from a PC onto a cassette tape?

A mic input takes music INTO the unit for it to record; a headphone output sends what it plays (radio or cassette) as a signal to headphones -- or, to answer your question, to another recording or amplification amp that accepts line out levels.

Q: Does this player support stereo output? (No rosie perez, I don't care that your player died)

I think it would depend on the tape. The player has outs for MIC and headphones. I have not tried using the player with headphones so I can't be 100% sure.

Q: What is the playback quality of a voice recording not a music cassette. Is there a lot of background noise? Can you hear the recorded voice plainly?

Mine works great. I've listened to audio books as well as music and haven't had any problems. Hope this helps.

Q: Why did it break soon soon after the 30day limit to refund?

It is very poorly made, do not spend money or time on this product.

I love this thing

I bought another walkman from amazon about a year ago and that one died rather quickly. This one's much more convenient! The audio quality's great for the most part and if it's not then you likely need new batteries. It can stand on its own and isn't too heavy at all! The battery lasts me about a week but I'm constantly using this thing. I'd suggest to get a belt clip for the back though
