The original 7 Wonders: Duel is a great game, among my favorite 2-player games. However, after a dozen or so playthroughs the original game becomes a bit repetitive and leaves an experienced player wanting a bit more.The Pantheon Expansion delivers. All of the new mechanics are well-designed and fun to play. The expansion gives the player several new options that add an entirely new dimension of strategy to the game. I've found the expanded game has considerably more staying power than the original, mostly because it's more dynamic and complex, giving an experienced player considerably more to think about.The expansion involves a lot of new rules and significant set-up time, which could be a bit of an obstacle for new players. Also, the addition of new options and powers tends to inure to the benefit of advanced players, causing margins of victory to be larger in the expansion than in the original. But that's also what I think makes the expansion more challenging, rewarding, and fun.I recommend getting acquainted with the original game first, but the expansion is a great improvement. This is one of my favorite games. Very highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I have played dozens of games of 7 Wonders: Duel, and we seem to enjoy it more with every play through. New strategies explored, new structures dealt, and new combinations of Wonders. In adding the Pantheon expansion, we only fell MORE in love with the game. Why? Pantheon does a brilliant job of adding a new mechanic that doesn't dramatically alter the flow of the game. In my opinion, the biggest change is simply that a player has the option to "recruit a divinity" as opposed to choosing a card. In the base game, a player's hand may be forced simply by the layout of cards. However, there is more flexibility and therefore less "sheer luck" with this expansion, which I believe is an important aspect of a strategy-heavy, head-to-head board game. Great addition to an already amazing game!

Not a quick game to learn but once you understand the rules, this game and its expansions are phenomenal. Multiple ways to win, varying game play, highly strategic 2 player (only) game. It can be as quick as 15 minutes or as long as an hour. Suitable for teen and older.

Thia is a must. Will spice up the gameplay!

This is a fun add-on to the existing 7 Wonders Duel game. If you're looking to add some additional elements to the gameplay, this is an excellent choice. The learning curve isn't too steep, and the additional gameplay considerations add to the challenge of the game. This is a solid purchase for those who enjoy 2-player games.

My wife and I play Pantheon weekly. After extensive play of the base game we discovered the Pantheon expansion and are very much enjoying the added layers of god-play. This introduces a 3rd action that provides completely different strategies and pacing compared to the base game. Simply being able to "skip" a card-draw to play a god can have significant impact on your age-pathing (denying opponent card or ensuring you get a card). The wonder-god combos are super fun. I will say that ANUBIS+TEMPLE is seemingly OP but still super fun (2 turns + 24g is prettttyyy strong).

Really enhances the base 7 Wonders Duel game without making it overly complex. It does lengthen the game time so if you want a faster game, play just the base. Or if you've played the base enough times and want to add some spice, this is for you!
