5-Star General Rating: Perfect for Tactical Tantrums and World Domination Plans
Risk is the perfect game if you’ve ever looked at Monopoly and thought, this needs more global domination and backstabbing. The rules feel like they were written by a UN committee, but once you get the hang of it, it’s surprisingly smooth until your cousin suddenly invades Kamchatka and declares war over the dinner table.Gameplay is tense, alliances are fragile, and if you don’t like arguing with friends and family, well, too bad, you’re going to anyway. Bonus, it doubles as a personality test. You’ll quickly find out who’s a strategic genius, who’s passive aggressive, and who’s just out for blood.Highly recommend if you love laughter, betrayal, and at least one person storming off muttering, I’m never playing this again.Would invade again.

Very fun but..
Very fun, everything seems high quality after using it a few times but my favorite color (red) came super washed out. It’s basically a vibrant Orange. Besides that though it’s all good.

A Basic Edition of a Classic Strategy Game
It's your standard Risk game with 5 different colored armies (orange, blue, green, yellow, and... indigo, which is really black) instead of your traditional 6, decks of territory and secret mission cards, dice, board, and rulebook in a box.The pieces are really nice. They are larger than previous versions (comparing to the 1998 and 2003 releases of the game) and have some nice detail to them.Gameplay is still the same. Although it is enjoyable for those new to strategy games, seasoned veterans may find it to be a bit dull. If you want to spice it up, I recommend getting 4-5 boxes of this version and 4-5 boxes of the $30-$40 60th Anniversary Edition (not the Deluxe Version) for an additional three colored armies (red, pink, and black... which is really brown), print and laminate 3' × 4' maps from the 1995 PC game, 5 sets of 12-sided dice (white, yellow, green, red, and black), and get a copy of Same-Time Risk (game variant from the 2000 PC game) rules from the internet. I got some of my buddies hooked on it, and it truly immerses you into a more complex, exciting, and challenging game while keeping some of the same classic mechanics. If you're a novice to strategy games, this is a classic. If you want a more realistic, Napoleonic-style game, go with my recommendation in the last paragraph.

John Jeremy Jr. takes a Risk
Me and John Jeremy Sr. are at the store. John Jermey Sr. says to me, “Let’s steal a board game Jimmy John Jr.”. I look at the wall of board games then look at John Jereme Sr. with a worried look. “We shouldn’t John Jereme Sr.. Remember what happened last time we stole.” I gulp at the thought. In a whisper I say, “We were banned from Humpty Dumpty Department Depot for life.” John Jereme Sr. contemplates this for a few seconds then speaks, “Ok fine. But I think we should take the risk.” “Are you sure?” He nods. “Fine”. Following his command, I grab the Risk from the shelf of board games. John Jereme Sr. gestures toward his bag, “Put it in and let’s get out of here.” “No, we still have to pay.” John Jereme Sr. gives me a confused look as I walk over to the counter and pay for Risk. At home John Jeremy Sr. asks me, “Why didn’t you put it in the bag?” “Oh John Jeremey Sr.” I sigh. I put a hand on his shoulder and look at him with a soft comforting stare. “It wasn’t worth the Risk” I say as I hold the boardgame up for his viewing pleasure. We both laugh. “You never cease to amaze me Jimmy John Jr.” The camera pans out on the two of us playing our new board and continues to pan out on our house and continues further until the camera has panned out on the entire planet.Text appears on screen,“Life has no meaning if you’re not willing to take a Risk”Jimmy John Jr.January 25th 2025

Iconic Game!
Played this game my Freshman year in college. Challenging and exciting with multiple players. An interesting game where players grapple for territories, form alliances and use strategic planning to take over the world. So interesting and fun, the hours of play seemingly melt away without notice. Never finished in less than 3 hours.
