PLCC Chip IC Extractor Tool for 18 to 124 pin PLCC ICS.

Great tool for the job. A while back I was in performing a BIOS update on one of my computers, when it suddenly crapped out. Despite the motherboard supporting an emergency flashback mode, I was unable to get it working, and ended up ordering a replacement BIOS chip. This tool was simple to use, and can easily be used on a number of differently sized chips. Without this, I would have risked it and used something like a screwdriver, potentially making things worse. This is a must have in any computer techs bag.

Works exactly as designed. Using this tool assumes a level of knowledge about IC chips and how to remove or replace one. There are no instructions that come with the tool.

The core puller parts of this are made of soft ferrous metal. the metal is soft and bends easily. They are very weak and only lasted 2 uses before they started bending. Now after 5 uses, they bend too much to use any longer.

These babies came in handy replacing EPROM chips for ATM's. The elbow joint locks down on the ends of the chips stabilizing them for easy removal. I highly recommend.
