Amazon Basics 14x20x1 Air Filter 6 Pack, MERV 8 AC Furnace Filters (Actual Size: 13.75 x 19.75 x .75)

These are a really great deal for some excellent whole house filters for your AC unit! These filters fit well and are constructed well and really provide the filtration I was looking for. The cost of filters and everything else in life has gone up these days but these are actually a very good price point for a multi-pack and please with them. We have many households pets, dust and other things in the air that you always find bother your allergies or your eyes. These filters do a great job of really cleaning that out and providing fresh filtered air throughout the house. They were easy to install and fit well in their place. We did notice a cleanup of smells and improved airflow from the last air filters we had before . These provide a great performance and I highly recommend these filters!

I purchased the Amazon Basics Merv 8 AC Furnace Air Filter - 14'' x 14'' x 1'', (Pack of 6). This is the second time I've purchased these air filters. Great price compared to the local hardware store, fits perfectly in the filter space, and does an excellent job of filtering. Highly recommended.

My existing filter element was 3 inch deep and I replaced with 1 inch of Amazon Basics. My consideration was that depth only increases the (surface area of filtering media/Area of air inlet opening). This results in increased life before it gets soiled. Using 1 inch width element and doubling the replacement frequency is a better proposition. It makes economic sense and improves performance.The quality of filter is very good and made rigid enough for easy fitment. Outer holding box is made of good quality polished cardboard and filter fiber is interwoven with fine metal wire. This is a very standard design but nicely implemented.

Usually use FilterBuy. I can immediately notice the difference in strength/structure of these Amazon filters. Evident by the filters being delivered absolutey crushed on arrival. Lol.Got an exchange, and the differences are immediately noticeable. Amazon filters weigh less and feel flimsy. However, it fits the return vents more snug than the FilterBuy filters. Making the dimensions a little more true to size. The actual filter material seemed less dense and more transparent than the FilterBuy. Which could arguably be better, as it stresses the unit less...In terms of function. It works, but I do feel like it's not the MERV 8 it claims. The purifier air quality measurement in my bedroom has generally been up about 30points since using these filters. Perhaps a higher MERV in the Amazon basic may makes a difference in air quality.For now, I'm personally not convinved enough to switch over. But it does the job for now running the fan only and the heat at nights. I am curious to see how it performs in the summer when the AC is running way more frequently.

I have been using Filtrete filters for years but sorry 3M you have become too pricey.These are of very slightly lower quality. They are about 1/8" thinner than Filtrete and very slightly more "flimsy" but they seem adequate . I will check to ensure they do not bow out under air pressure, but they they do have a metal mesh for support unlike some less expensive filtersI think they will do the job well but I will be careful not to try to squeeze more than 3 months out of each one.postscript:I had another close look at the filters comparing them with a Filtrete. The frame size of 16" x 25" filters is exactly the same. There appeared to be one fold less in the Amazon filter which slightly reduces the filtration area. However, the Amazon filtration material actually seemed better in that it was more uniform on all my filters. The Filtrete one seemed to have small areas all over where it was slightly thinner. They were clearly visible when it was held up to let light shine through.I would also withdraw my "flimsy" comment. The cardboard cut outs in the Filtrete were slightly larger and pressing on the filtration material revealed it was better restrained in the Amazon filter.Bottom line, I am pleased with the Amazon product. Any differences between them and the industry leader are negligible and inconsequential, and so they represent value for the money.

The price is right.

I used these to make a Corsi_Rosenthal box to help filter our indoor air. It's been working as the filters have gone from white to a slight grey over the last few months and I have been breathing a bit easier. Of course, this is all anecdotal as I have no equipment to test the air quality, but I am happy with how the filters have worked out.The filters are light, easy to handle and have directional arrows to let you know which way to install them.Overall, they're filters, if you need them for your furnace, you should already know which filter level and size to get. If you need them to make a CR box, these ones setup easily and have lasted me for several months now.
