Great replacement for instant tea!
Loved to use tea granules as they are so much more healthier and cleaner that tea bags. But as they are now discontinued was in need of an alternative as find tea bags to be dirty and messy. People soak their clothes etc to get the nasty bit out so what does soaking a bag containing tea do? How many people may have handled a tea bag before soaking it in hot water??Putting loose tea in a diffuser seems to me much more hygenic and this divice works very well and am deilghted with it!

really useful and good but could do with a little design enhancement for hand-free use
Good design that is easy to use although a little annoying that I need to hold it open with one hand to put anything in it which sometimes requires both hand. The hole size is great, it is also good quality and dishwasher safe. I use it to add cloves and cinnamon (uncrushed) and it does the job well, allowing their flavour to come through (leave the item with the ingredients in it to brew in the hot water for about 3 minutes). All in all, really useful and good at what it does but could do with a little design enhancement for hand-free use.

Great shape and good filter size
We use these each day. Their spring loading is quite firm and they align when filling, meaning both halves come together nicely not allowing what you put in to escape. The filter size is good, meaning that the finest of tea leaves remain in the tea ball and not in the cup.We have used them for few months now and they remain in great condition. The only consideration is....Be careful how you store them as the tea ball metal netting will deform. They all do this and so we store ours upside down in a tea cup in the cupboard until needed, to protect the tea ball.Secondly, I use hibiscus leaves often, it can lead to a certain staining.I will place a tea ball in a weakened solution of bleach for a few hours and then THOROUGHLY rinse it many times, all stains have then gone.We use them for white teas, green teas, chopped ginger and hibiscus. Sometimes chamomile. They work great. These are wonderful, thick gauge metal and strong springs.Very much recommended.I hope that this helps you.

Easy to use, economical, eco-friendly
I have used this type of sprung tea ball for years. Whittards used to sell them for £5 each, so I didn't buy many in those days!Good points:- You can use a small amount of good tea to make a mug for one person. I find it easier to keep a spoon in the tea caddy and use that to fill the tea ball rather than scoop the tea with the tea ball itself.- Even if you are making tea for several people it's still quicker to use one tea ball per mug than it is to get out the tea pot, warm it, make tea, pour it through a strainer, swill out the tea leaves and wash the pot. And the tea will be hot, though the handle of the tea ball is not.- These particular tea balls have a longer stem than others I own, so good if you like a big mug of tea.- They also have stainless steel pins holding the arms together which last much longer than the copper pins that some manufacturers use.- After use it's easy to open the tea ball and tap it on the side of the compost caddy - most of the leaves will drop out. Much better than trying to rip open a soggy tea bag so that the tea dust can be composted and the bag thrown away.- This type are much easier to use than the ones on a chain.Other considerations:The spring is quite strong so arthritis sufferers might find difficulty holding them open to get the tea in.

Doesn't fully close
These are only useful for bigger tea leaves. Standard loose tea just leaks out of the middle as they don't close fully, ending in lots of bits floating in the tea. Also the resulting tea leaves sometimes end up getting stuck in the strainers and are difficult to get out. Not practical.

Handy little tool
I’m really pleased with this product. It’s perfect for infusing loose leaf tea or mulling spices. The mesh is fine enough to keep even small bits contained, and the handle makes it easy to remove from your cup or pot. A simple, effective tool that’s now a staple in my kitchen!

Good product but hard to use
Good product. It's hard to open the filter part. Also hard to clean. Tea leaves will get stuck between the circles so you have to master the art of getting tea with this or put the tea in with a spoon which feels like it beats the purpose. Wasn't as practical and fast as I thought.

Perfect for one single serving of coffee or herbal drinks
Perfect size for leaves to fit in cup for mint tea. Easy to open and close, fine enough to hold content so I don’t end up with bits in my tea
