Well-made, inexpensive, fun little robot
I ordered 2 of these - 1 for each of my boys (you know, what one has, the other has to have - of course). They absolutely love them. My 4 year old is completely obsessed with robots, so this has been a wonderful way to get him his own at a price that doesn't kill me. We have had them for a month and they both still work great. Their antennae are a bit bent and wonky, and the middle wheels on either side of the robots have a piece broken off... because you're not supposed to drive them around like Matchbox cars with your hand... their little plastic wheels can't and weren't meant to take the pressure, so only use the remote to make them drive around. ;-) They still drive great though. The robots don't seem to notice they're a little worse for wear. We just changed the batteries in the remotes - we haven't had to change the robot's batteries yet. So with daily play, I feel like their batteries have lasted a great amount of time. I will totally be back to buy another if we manage to kill one of ours. We have really gotten a lot of enjoyment out of them so far.

Great gift for a grade school age kid
My grandkids LOVE Hex Bugs, and so do I. These things are fun to play with and will outlast the energizer bunny! A little pricy but still an ok value for the money based on the fun factor.

Fun, but a bit tough to control
This little thing is pretty fun to play with, and my cats love to follow it around. That being said, it's somewhat difficult to control. The remote works, but it's not a normal remote. One button controls the left side wheels and one controls the right. If you hit them both in the same direction at the same time, it will almost kind of go forward, but mostly it just likes to spin around. Still fun to play with, but would be nicer if you could control it better.

Try a different hex bug
Stopped moving after two uses. Light is on, gears move slightly but make no progress to produce motion.

Loads of fun
These are really cool I bought 2 for my 4yr old and he loves them. the remote is nice and small for him and it didn't take a long time for him to get the hang of the controller. They have a good range of surfaces that they work on. We have races and head to head battles as well as obstacle course races and trick competitions. Totally worth the purchase.

Neat, but a little hard for younger child to steer
Looks neat--the little antennae are the best part. It moves very quickly--just like a little bug. My only complaint is that you have to push both "forward" buttons with equal force to make it go foward (otherwise, it goes in a circle)--kinda hard for my son to do.
