Productivity boost and an excellent Accessibility tool! (Great for gaming, too :P )

I'm now on my third Corsair SCIMITAR mouse in 5 years, so why the 5 star review? Because when it works, it works REALLY well. I tried using a Redragon and even a no-brand mouse, and, the difference is just night and day in terms of software support, to wit: Corsair iCue actually does what it's supposed to do.People like to rag on iCue and Synapse, and, yeah, Synapse I've found to be less usable than iCue (even though iCue has a higher learning curve), but iCue saves your profiles per application. This means you can have your entire Photoshop or DaVinci Resolve workflow bound right under your thumb. These mice aren't just for gaming, and if more people realized that, they'd be a *lot* more common.Story time! I use mine primarily as an accessibility aid, as I am legally blind. So when I'm not using it for workflow things or actual gaming (I play World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV and it's a game changer, literally!), I have it set up so that at the touch of a button, I can zoom in or out using Windows or Linux magnifier software, I can activate either an on demand screen reader to read what's under my mouse, or in Firefox activate the ReadAloud browser extension (Ctrl+P or Ctrl+O to start/stop respectively). The extra buttons are set to various media controls (Play, Next, etc.) for convenience.Did I mention that iCue automatically swaps profiles depending on what application is in focus? So if I'm playing World of Warcraft for example, I alt tab out to check Wowhead and iCue intelligently swaps to the Default accesibility profile. When I switch back, it goes back to my game specific profile. Same for editing photos or video, or audio in Reaper (I wear many hats!)My advice: get it, but get the 4 year protection plan. It's an extra $13 for the peace of mind that, if it does only last 2 years (like my last two, but to be fair they were not the "Elite" version) then you can get it replaced for free and get another 2 years. And if it lasts longer than 4 years, that's a heck of a deal for under $100 for the productivity and gaming boost!

Great Mouse Replacement for Naga

I switched to this mouse from the razor naga after they started going down hill(Frist one lasted 8 years 2nd 2 years 3rd 1 year and i game between 4 & 18 hours a day depending on the day) I love it honestly the way I can adjust the number pad for my hands, I love that 6 of them have bumps to show the difference, especially when playing a new game that isn't muscle memory yet, I have very small hands so the general MMO play style doesn't work for me. I also got one for my husband and he likes it

Great mouse

I am a big fan of Corsair. This mouse helps me a lot with video and also work time. The side buttons allow me to create macros and make my work day easier.

Great mouse, horrible software

Update:I am lowering my initial score lower due to the middle mouse wheel starting to fail. The mouse wheel will slip and either not register the movement, or slip backwards in the opposite direction. It should go without saying, that for gaming this is completely unacceptable. Looking at reviews and comments this appears to be so consistent it should be considered a feature of the mouse. You can temporarily "fix" this by disassembling the mouse and greasing the mouse wheel, but it seems that people end up having to do this every few months once it starts, honestly it is not worth my time to do that.Strangely, the software has gotten slightly better, at least up until the most recent update, where it started to fail again. It has been more reliable most of the time, but I doubt the initial setup has gotten any better. As things stand right now, within about a year you will have to buy a new mouse or start doing frequent maintenance where you have to disassemble the mouse. Between the short life of the middle mouse wheel, and the software still not being that great, I would strongly recommend against this mouse.Mouse: 1/10iCue: 3/10Original Review:The mouse itself is great. It feels good in the hand and the adjustable keypad is very convenient. The only issue that I have with the mouse itself is that the scroll wheel does not operate like a back and forward button (no left / right movement). But that is a minor gripe when coming from the logitech G600. I do like that you can see the DPI via the color of the LED at the thumb, that is a nice feature. The single biggest failure of the mouse is the iCUE software. Now to start off I have used iCUE for awhile now, I have a corsair keyboard and LED fans, so I do use the software quite a bit. But for whatever reason they made the mouse interactions extremely dumb. Everything from needing to manually program every button in the default profile (because why would you want to use the number keys?) to the hardware profiles not really saving (if they save they are corrupt and get reset when you start iCUE again).Every time that my screen locks, I lose access to the number keys. This would be helpful for signing into my desktop, but not the end of the world. The real annoying part is when you do login the profile that should be loaded on to the mouse gets loaded, due to the way the communication protocol works for USB devices the mouse itself goes unresponsive for a few seconds. All that being said, I think my biggest problem with the iCUE software is that profiles are completely isolated and do not have any sort of stacking. Not really a big issue if you are only using a mouse or keyboard. Kinda a big issue when you have multiple devices and LEDs being controlled by the software. Ultimately if you hit the change profile button on the mouse (and you will, a lot), you go to a blank profile that basically turns everything off. Overall the software is not well thought out and not user friendly.Mouse: 4/10iCUE Software: 0/10

Solid mouse for the price

Only giving it 4 stars because the scroll wheel click seems to be going unless I click it really hard. I suppose that's an over-time use type thing (probably about a year and some change now with mine), but it's slightly inconvenient to me because I use it when I'm gaming and it won't always work first click anymore.
