This craft was frustrating for my grand daughters. The pieces were really small.

My daughter wanted to have some supplies to create pom-pom decorations for her backpack. She invited a couple of friends to get together and use this kit to make some cute designs. We've had many, many Klutz kits, and they have almost all been terrific. But this one did not quite live up to the Klutz standards we are accustomed to.ATTRACTIVENESS AND VARIETY OF PIECESThe pieces in the kit are all very attractive and cute. The animal faces make you smile, and there's a cheerful color scheme to the whole thing. There is enough glue, string, and other supplies for all 6 clips.MANUALAnd, as always, the manual is done very nicely, with great pictures and explanations of the steps.ACTUAL PROJECTThe problem here is with the implementation. The included needles are not effective at going through the materials. The included glue did not hold the pieces together. I was able to get better needles from my wife's sewing kit. I then got a bottle of better craft glue, which worked.CONCLUSIONIn the end, my daughter and her friends did create backpack clips that they are happy with, but be aware that unlike other Klutz kits, you'll have to supplement this one with your own supplies to be successful.

This is a nice kit, aside from the glue and the sewing needle, but these are supplies that almost everyone has in their houses and are easy to replace. The needle in my kit is rusty and the glue is less effective than school glue. I used my own needle and crafting glue to complete the kit. I also added googlie eyes from my supplies to add a personal touch to several of the critters, because googlie eyes make everything better.The poofs are soft and easy to work with and the finished products are adorable. I love the little keychain critters. They finished keychains make great gifts. The metal keychains are sturdy and clip well.3.5 stars

Who knew backpack pom-poms were a thing? Certainly not clueless dad over here. Then my daughters told me about how all the kids are decking out their bags with stuffies and pom poms. Sure enough the next time we were out shopping at JUSTICE these things were everywhere...and selling for $10 each. For a 2 cent piece of fuzz with googly eyes!? Are you kidding? So along comes the opportunity to make our own with a craft kit for slightly less than the retail prices. The kit has everything you need to make custom pompoms, and the clips ARE sturdy as advertised. However, the fastening and adhesion techniques are such that they fell off of my girls' backpacks within a month of regular use. So if you're looking for an alternative to the expensive ones, I guess the only way to compare is whether paying full retail price at a store ensures a longer lasting pom pom. Otherwise, treat this like a fun art project set with a short-term lifespan.

It's a cute craft set with an instructions book attached to the box. If your kiddo is like mine and has not had as much experience with stitching/sewing, this one might be a little more tricky/challenging for them. My 9 year old was able to put them together nearly all on her own but got frustrated with it here-and-there. Once she completed her first keychain, though, she was so proud of it and thinks the animals are so cute. There's a needle that's fairly sharp and glue- just to keep in mind when considering age and all.It's a cute set and the fluffy animal clips end up being soft and fun!

They liked making pom-poms for their backpacks.We really like craft kits. I would much prefer them doing something than watching something.It is nice because they can spend the time doing it and then they have something special to keep. They are excited when they make something themselves.This is a great activity for a rainy day or a day when your child is sick or when you are just stuck at home. It is a good way to keep a child busy.I thought it was age appropriate. It wasn’t too hard. The children really liked how it turned out.I feel like this is good for child development. It kept my children's interest. It would also make a nice gift.I would recommend it.
