Transgo (SK722.6) Transgo Shift Kit for 722.6

Sometimes it takes another team to make simple improvements over an original design. I bought the kit for Mercedes 722.6/Chrysler NAG transmission.The instructions are idiot proof! If you don't understand them, maybe you should not even be driving! Seriously well thought out and presented. Organized packaging in box is very good.After purging 7l of fluid, installing TRANSGO kit (and conductor plate as prevent maint), my transmission is performing like new on cold mornings.My kit came with some new springs simply to replace old ones.While the valve body was out, it was opened up and cleaned; after all there is debris (black dust) throughout which I'm believing to cause wear on the valves, bores and sleeves. This isn't required to change valves and doing so ups the need for greater attention to processes.Note: there are many kits that vary from parts to replace only notorious failures to complete overhaul.

I installed this in my 2013 Mercedes Sprinter 2500. I’ve only done about 20 miles on it so far, but it feels better already. As the shift adaptations are learned in the computer and as the fresh fluid cleans all the internals, I imagine it will get better over time.This kit is not recommended for an average DIYer. It’s not that bad to do, but you have to be careful when opening up the transmission. I’ve had my AMG V8 engine apart, so this job was well within my abilities. YouTube videos regarding 722.6 conductor plate and valve body help as far as getting the valve body out and the conductor plate off.This will be easier to do on a car than it was on my Sprinter van because there are crossmembers front and rear of the transmission pan whereas Mercedes cars have open access.Here’s the ironic part: you need a clean work space to disassemble the valve body. But it’s going to get covered in dirty transmission fluid. I did it on the lunch table at work with a trash bag. Turns out. MB transmission fluid eats through a trash bag 😂😂. So I cleaned the table with brake cleaner and a rag.Watch videos, take your time. All you need is a 5mm Allen socket (drain plug), T30 torx socket for the pan bolts and valve body bolts that hold it into the transmission, T20 torx for the plates on the valve body, and a 7mm socket to get the electrical connector sleeve off the conductor plate (this is done after draining fluid and before loosening the valve body).I did not separate the upper and lower valve bodies from each other. So the instructions were “upside down”. Just pay attention to the shape of the valve body and treat it like a mirror image.Update: at least 15,000 miles in and it’s still shifting great!!!

I install the Transgo & Sonnex kits together on my 722.6 transmission. Shifts like new. The instructions are printed a little small, but job was done in a couple hours

This transgo kit works great. Noticed the shifts felt more solid. The instructions are very well done and made the install very easy. This kit was installed in a 5.7hemi car and was a great refresh. Will be buying for my other nag1 car.

Instructions are pretty good and easy to understand, it came also with the three overlap sleeves.

Improves shifting noticeable

300 srt8. Was constantly hunting gears. Would jump right through 2nd. Super embarrasing with loud exhaust. Reset parameters but didn't help. Yoinked valve body, cleaned and installed this kit. Super easy. Transmission is like new now, even chirps occasionally. Super accurate shifting and holds gears as it should.
