Very nice stretching device
I purchased this to loosen up a new pair of shoes that was just a touch tight. Worked great! It has separate controls to push the shoes to be a bit wider and a bit longer. Not much - but enough to make my shoes comfortable. Sturdy and well constructed device.

Built solid and does the job
I have not had it long, but so far so good. It is a much better build quality than the plastic stretcher that I had to return. Seems solid and stretches two ways, length and width. It costs just a few more dollars than the plastic pair, but at this price you only get one instead of two. Obviously you can only stretch one shoe at a time, or you must buy two for twice the price. Either way, while pricier, it is certainly a better made product, and hopefully it will last a very ling time. I wear a size 13-14 shoe. There's no such thing as a 13.5 and 14's are very hard to find. A good shoe stretcher comes in handy, especially when it is difficult to size up.

Effective
My left foot seems to have widened. This definitely made my shoe fit better and be more comfortable. Well made.

Seems to work on different types of shoes
Arrived quickly. Easy to use - got this for my husbands work shoes, but first tried it on a new pair of tennis shoes. Seems to have worked nicely.

Great fit and construction
Does excellent job widening shoe front/tie. However be careful about not over stretching back of shoe.

If you’re using them to really stretch shoes, they always eventually break
This is my fourth time buying these? They do work. But if you’re really trying to stretch the f*** out of your leather boots (I always need to widen the tow box of all my boots), they eventually give up.

Good quality, easy to use
Very handy to have given that online shoe purchases are sometimes a little tight. Very good quality and certainly very easy to use. Quite happy with this purchase.

It really worked!
I was skeptical, but I was desperate……and was so happy to find out that this stretcher actually worked. 10 years ago I got a pair of custom-made shoes from a fancy shoemaker in Italy. They took the appropriate measurements at the time. It took almost 8 months and a whole paycheque for these shoes to be made; when they finally arrived to me they were a little tight (a little too tight)! I absolutely could not wear them; my big toe felt like it was being crushed. They were my dream dress shoes and I simply could not wear them. Last month I started browsing and found this shoe stretcher. I thought I would give it a chance. At $41, if they didn’t work I would send them back. There’s a helpful video on YouTube that explains that you should soak a small, thin rag in water and isopropyl alcohol and then put that inside the toebox of the shoe for a few minutes to help dampen the leather. After you remove the little rag, insert the stretcher and screw it in until it is snug. Then, start to twist the handle and widen it slowly. The small chrome inserts that are supposed to mimic the big toe start to stretch out the side of the shoe where your big toe would hit. Don’t over stretch the leather, as there is the possibility of permanently rupturing something. I left the stretcher in there for about five days. When I tried walking with them, it was greatly improved. I wouldn’t say that the shoes are perfect, but they are definitely 7.5/10 comfortable. I absolutely couldn’t wear them before. It’s important to keep wearing the shoes to break them in, especially if the leather is quite stiff. I ended up buying a second stretcher and have both shoes on there right now. It isn’t a perfect solution, but if you have well-made, stiff dress shoes that are too snug, this structure will definitely create a bit of space on the side of your big toe. If you happen to have a problem with your pinky toe, I can’t speak to that and don’t exactly know what results may occur. It does definitely seem easier to create more space for the side of your big toe than it would for your pinky toe, however. The big toe is the one that slides forward with more torque behind it.

shoe stretcher
My husband bought a pair of Italian leather shoes and they were a bit too snug. He placed the shoe stretcher in his shoe and left it for a few days and they fit perfectly.
